Fertility information seminars a huge success!
March 2011
Our fertility clinc information seminars have proven to be a huge success and we now plan to run four a year in January, April, July & September. The seminars are free to attend and are held locally in the evenings between 7 and 9pm.
Attendees will have the chance to hear from two of our leading consultants Dr. Sue Ingamells and Dr. Chantal Simonis, along with presentations from our lead Embryologist Mr. Tony Price and his team and a member of Infertility Network UK. The presentations will include ‘The Patient Journey’, giving an overview of a typical IVF treatment cycle. Other practitioners may be involved, including alternative therapists and patients keen to share their experiences with those considering fertility treatment.
The seminars provide a rare opportunity to talk face-to-face outside of a formal consultation setting. Couples can come and listen to our panel of experts talk through the fertility treatment journey and receive answers to any questions they may have.
What delegates have said about our seminars:
‘Thank you for putting my mind at rest, about something that is going to be a long journey for us’
‘Very informative evening’
‘Informative and reassuring’
‘Very impressed with the personal touch’
‘A highly informative, easy to understand seminar. Lots of help, thank you!’
Dr Chantal Simonis, Consultant in Reproductive Medicine at Wessex Fertility, said: “Our fertility seminars are proving to be very popular and we are delighted that we are able to offer patients the chance to address any concerns before reaching decisions about their treatment.”
Clare Lewis-Jones, CEO of Infertility Network UK, added: “There are so many questions to be asked when it comes to fertility treatment and what is right for each individual. Infertility Network UK was set up to provide support and empowerment for those facing that difficult fertility journey, through our online discussion forum, face-to-face events and information fact sheets amongst many other services. This fertility information seminar supports people across the South region considering treatment and we are pleased to be a part of this initiative from Wessex Fertility.”
